ViewLux Kitchen Remodeling: The Fort Lauderdale Owner’s Guide
A full ViewLux kitchen remodel in Fort Lauderdale typically runs $14,000 to $45,000 installed, depending on cabinet line, countertop material, and how much of the existing layout you’re keeping. We stock ViewLux-compatible hardware, hinges, drawer slides, and cabinet components on our trucks, and we can usually get replacement parts matched and installed within a week of your call. Most owners call us because a drawer front has sagged, a soft-close hinge has blown out, or a cabinet box has started to separate at the seam after years of South Florida humidity.
Here’s the thing about ViewLux cabinetry: the boxes are built well, but the hardware takes a beating in Fort Lauderdale’s salt air and humidity. We see the same failure points over and over, and we know exactly which replacement parts fit which ViewLux series. You don’t need to rip out a whole kitchen because a hinge gave out. Most of the time, it’s a $40 part and an hour of labor. Other times, you’re looking at a full replacement because the structural frame has gone soft. We’ll tell you which one you have before we touch a thing.
Which ViewLux Models This Applies To

ViewLux produces several cabinet lines that show up regularly in Fort Lauderdale condos and single-family homes built or renovated between roughly 2005 and 2018. The most common lines we work on are the ViewLux Classic Series, the ViewLux Euro frameless line, and the ViewLux Shaker collection. The good news is that ViewLux uses fairly standard European hardware across most of its lines, which means we can often match a Blum or Grass hinge or a Salice drawer slide to a ViewLux cabinet without waiting on a special order.
The compatibility gotcha to know: ViewLux frameless cabinets (the Euro line) use a 35mm bore diameter for hinge cups, not the 26mm bore you find on some face-frame American cabinets. If you order a hinge online without measuring, you’ll get the wrong cup size and blow out the door. We check the bore diameter, the overlay (usually full overlay on ViewLux frameless), and the mounting plate height before we order anything. OEM ViewLux hinges are available but cost two to three times what a quality Salice or Blum equivalent costs, and the aftermarket parts typically outlast the originals in coastal conditions. We’ll give you both prices and a recommendation, not just an order form.

Signs Your ViewLux Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- Soft-close drawer slams shut or creeps open. The damper cartridge inside the drawer slide has blown. This happens faster in Fort Lauderdale because the constant humidity corrodes the internal piston. The slide itself is usually fine; the damper is the disposable part.
- Cabinet door won’t stay closed or hangs at an angle. The hinge spring has fatigued or the mounting plate screws have stripped out of the particleboard. Once a screw hole strips in a humid environment, tightening it again just makes the hole bigger.
- Thermofoil or laminate facing is peeling at the edges. This is a moisture problem, pure and simple. Fort Lauderdale kitchens with poor ventilation see this on lower cabinets near the dishwasher or sink first. The door or drawer front needs replacement, not repair.
- Drawer box separating at the dovetail or butt joints. The glue has failed. We see this on older ViewLux drawer boxes that have absorbed moisture and swelled. A new drawer box with upgraded Baltic birch plywood usually outlasts the original.
- Cabinet box pulling away from the wall. This is the serious one. It means the wall anchors or mounting rail have failed, often because the backsplash or drywall behind the cabinet was never sealed against moisture. Get this looked at before the whole upper cabinet comes down.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For a full ViewLux kitchen remodel in Fort Lauderdale, you’re looking at $14,000 to $45,000. That range covers a mid-size galley or L-shaped kitchen with new ViewLux-compatible cabinetry, countertop installation, backsplash, hardware, and basic electrical and plumbing tied into existing locations. A smaller kitchen remodel, where you’re keeping the footprint and replacing cabinets, countertops, and a backsplash, runs $9,000 to $20,000.
What drives the cost: countertop material is the single biggest variable (laminate and butcher block land at the low end, quartz and natural stone at the high end), followed by whether you’re moving plumbing or electrical, and whether the existing cabinet boxes are salvageable. Every job gets a written price before work starts. No verbal estimate, no surprise invoice at the end. If we find something behind the drywall that changes the scope, we tell you what we found, what it takes to fix it, and what it will cost before we touch a thing. The workmanship is covered by our 365-Day Done Right Promise, which runs 365 days from the completion date.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check a few things yourself: whether the hinge screws are simply loose (don’t overtighten into stripped particleboard), whether a drawer damper has popped out of its clip, and whether the cabinet door is out of alignment at the hinge adjustment screws. That’s about where DIY should stop. Replacing a ViewLux hinge with the wrong bore diameter or overlay can crack the door face, and a stripped mounting plate in a cabinet box that’s gone soft from moisture becomes a structural problem fast. An upper cabinet that’s pulling away from the wall is not a job for shims and longer screws. If a cabinet comes down, it’s a couple hundred pounds of box and dishes hitting whatever is underneath it.

FAQs

ViewLux cabinet boxes typically last 15 to 20 years in Fort Lauderdale’s climate, but the hardware (hinges, drawer slides, dampers) usually needs replacement at the 7 to 10 year mark because of salt air and humidity. If the plywood or particleboard core is still solid, replacing hardware and refinishing doors gets you another decade. Call (754) 354-3720 and we’ll tell you honestly whether your cabinets are worth saving.
Yes, most single-cabinet failures (a blown hinge, a sagging drawer front, a stripped mounting plate, a separated drawer box) can be repaired for a few hundred dollars or less. Full cabinet box replacement only makes sense when the structure itself has gone soft from moisture. We’ll show you exactly which situation you’re in before quoting anything.
A typical ViewLux kitchen remodel takes 4 to 8 weeks from demo to final walkthrough, depending on whether you’re moving plumbing or electrical and how long custom countertop fabrication takes. Cabinet-only replacements can be done in 3 to 5 days. We give you a written schedule and a written price before the first tool leaves the truck.
We stock the most common ViewLux-compatible hinges, drawer slides, soft-close dampers, and mounting plates on our service trucks, and we can source OEM ViewLux parts or quality equivalents (Blum, Salice, Grass) within a few days for everything else. We’ll quote you both the OEM and aftermarket price so you can decide. Call (754) 354-3720 with your cabinet’s hinge bore measurement and we’ll tell you if it’s on the truck.
