Kohler Kitchen Remodeling: The Fort Lauderdale Owner’s Guide
A full Kohler kitchen remodel in Fort Lauderdale typically runs $14,000 to $45,000 installed, depending on whether you’re replacing a faucet and sink or gutting the whole kitchen around your Kohler fixtures. We stock Kohler-compatible kitchen components and install them with written pricing before any work starts. Most owners discover a problem the same way: a faucet that drips at 2 a.m., a sink that won’t drain right after years of hard water from Fort Lauderdale’s municipal supply, or a sprayer hose that’s gone stiff and cracked in the humidity. Mason Remodeling Co Fort Lauderdale is an independent service provider, not affiliated with Kohler, but we work with their fixtures every week and know exactly how they fail in South Florida homes.
Which Kohler Models This Applies To
Kohler’s kitchen lineup breaks into a few families we see constantly in Fort Lauderdale: the Simplice and Sous pull-down faucet series, the Prolific and Broussard stationary faucets, the Karbon articulating deck-mount faucet, and a wide range of undermount and farmhouse sinks in the Whitehaven, Iron/Tones, and Stages collections. Each series has its own cartridge spec and finish code. Here’s the compatibility gotcha most homeowners miss: Kohler changed cartridge sizes between older Rite-Temp kitchen faucets and current models, so a valve that fits a 2012 Simplice will not fit a 2019 one. The finish code matters more than the model name when matching parts. Kohler stamps a finish code on every faucet box and on a label inside the spout base: CP is polished chrome, BN is brushed nickel, MB is matte black, VB is vibrant brushed bronze. Bring us a photo of that label and we’ll match it exactly, or we’ll identify it during the estimate visit. For most Fort Lauderdale kitchens, OEM Kohler cartridges are worth the extra cost because they’re ceramic-disc and last 10 to 15 years in our hard water, while generic aftermarket cartridges often fail again within two years.

Signs Your Kohler Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- Constant drip after the handle is fully closed. This is almost always a worn ceramic disc cartridge inside the faucet body. In Fort Lauderdale, mineral scaling from hard water accelerates this wear, and the drip usually gets worse before it gets better on its own.
- Sprayer hose won’t retract or feels stiff. The weight inside the cabinet has slipped out of position, or the hose itself is deteriorating. Kohler hoses use a braided nylon outer jacket that can crack after years of exposure to humidity and under-sink heat from South Florida dishwashers.
- Water pressure drops only at the kitchen faucet. That points to a clogged aerator or debris in the cartridge inlet screens. Kohler faucets have built-in check valves that can collect sediment from Fort Lauderdale’s water lines, especially after city maintenance flushes hydrants.
- Sink shows rust streaks around the drain or the faucet base. Even high-quality stainless sinks can develop surface rust from iron in the water. Kohler’s stainless sinks are 18-gauge or 16-gauge depending on series, but the drain flange and underside of the faucet deck are where we see pitting first.
- Handle gets harder to turn over time. The cartridge is binding from mineral buildup. You should not need two hands to turn your kitchen faucet off. If you do, the cartridge is on borrowed time.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

Here’s what Kohler kitchen work costs in Fort Lauderdale, installed:
- Faucet or cartridge replacement: $250 to $900 depending on cartridge type and whether we’re swapping the whole faucet or just the internal valve.
- Sink + faucet package (new Kohler sink, faucet, drain, supply lines): $1,800 to $4,500 installed.
- Partial kitchen remodel around existing Kohler fixtures: $9,000 to $20,000 for a small kitchen including cabinets, counters, and backsplash.
- Full Kohler kitchen remodel: $14,000 to $45,000 including cabinetry, counters, sink, faucet, lighting, and finishes.
The range comes down to cabinet grade, countertop material, whether plumbing needs to move, and how much of the existing cabinet structure stays. We write the price down before we touch anything, and it does not change. Every job comes with a written guarantee for 365 days from the completion date. If the faucet leaks or the sink shifts in that year, we come back at no charge. No dispute process, no conditions.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely change a Kohler aerator yourself with a pair of pliers and a rag over the jaws. You can also check the sprayer hose weight under the sink, because that’s just a sliding weight on a braided line. But pulling a Kohler cartridge out requires a cartridge puller, and if you crack the plastic retainer ring inside the faucet body, you’re buying a whole new faucet. We’ve been called after enough of those. Same with replacing an undermount sink: if the clips fail or the silicone bead isn’t done right, the sink drops away from the counter and pulls the supply lines with it. For anything beyond an aerator, call us at (754) 354-3720 and we’ll send someone who does this every day.
FAQs

A Kohler kitchen faucet with a ceramic disc cartridge should last 10 to 15 years in Fort Lauderdale homes, though hard water can shorten that to 8 or 9 years without regular cleaning of the aerator and cartridge screens. Most faucets fail by dripping long before they fail completely. Call (754) 354-3720 if yours is dripping now, and we’ll give you an exact quote to fix or replace it.
Yes, in most cases we replace just the cartridge, which costs $250 to $400 installed for a standard Kohler kitchen faucet. The exceptions are faucets older than roughly 2010 where the retainer ring has corroded into the body, or faucets with stripped threads from a previous DIY attempt. We’ll tell you what we found and what it costs before we touch a thing.
A faucet or cartridge swap takes 1 to 2 hours on site, and a sink plus faucet replacement takes half a day including shutting off water, demo of the old sink, and sealing the new one. We schedule a specific arrival window, and you get the technician’s name and photo before the visit. Call (754) 354-3720 to schedule a free estimate.
We carry common Kohler cartridges, aerators, sprayer hoses, and mounting hardware for the Simplice, Sous, and Prolific lines on our service trucks, so many Fort Lauderdale repairs are finished in one visit. Specialty finish trims and farmhouse sink flanges typically get ordered for next-day delivery. We’ll tell you which one applies to your model before we schedule the work.
