ECO Window Systems Fence Installation: The Fort Lauderdale Owner’s Guide

We stock and install fence parts and full fence systems that work with ECO Window Systems enclosures and perimeter screening across Fort Lauderdale. Most fence installation jobs tied to ECO Window Systems properties run between $3,500 and $9,000 installed, and that includes pulling the old section, setting posts, hanging panels, and hauling debris. What we typically hear first from a homeowner is that a gate post has started to lean after a summer storm, or a bottom rail has corroded where sprinkler water hits it every morning, or a panel is rattling against its frame every time the wind picks up off the Atlantic. By the time we arrive, the failure is usually pretty obvious, and the fix rarely surprises anyone.

One thing we want to be clear about up front: if your ECO Window Systems fence section has a high-tension spring-assisted gate mechanism, do not try to disassemble it yourself. Those springs hold enough stored energy to break a hand or worse if the tension releases the wrong way. That’s a job for a trained professional, and it’s one we handle regularly.

Which ECO Window Systems Models This Applies To

ECO Window Systems builds enclosures and screen systems in a few distinct lines, and the fence or perimeter paneling that surrounds them varies by series. The biggest compatibility gotcha we run into is between their standard residential enclosure panels and the heavy-gauge coastal series built for salt-air exposure. The coastal series uses a 0.085-inch wall thickness on aluminum uprights. The standard residential line uses 0.062-inch. They look almost identical side by side, and we’ve seen more than one DIY swap end with a mismatched post that won’t seat properly in the existing base plate.

To identify which part you need, look for the stamped label on the inside face of the bottom rail. ECO Window Systems embeds the series code there, usually a three-letter prefix followed by a four-digit panel width. If the label is worn off, measure the post width with a caliper, not a tape measure. The difference between the two series is about the thickness of a credit card, and a tape measure won’t catch it. We stock OEM panels for both series on our truck in Fort Lauderdale, along with quality aftermarket equivalents for the standard line. For coastal-series hardware, we recommend staying with OEM. The aftermarket versions we’ve tested don’t hold anodizing as well in salt air, and you’ll be replacing them again in three or four years.

Signs Your ECO Window Systems Fence Installation Is Failing

  • Post lean after a storm. In Fort Lauderdale’s sandy limestone soil, concrete footings lose grip faster than people expect. A post that’s off plumb by more than an inch at the top means the footing is cracked or was poured too shallow in the first place. The fix is a new pour, not a shim.
  • White chalky residue on aluminum rails. That’s galvanic corrosion where the aluminum meets a dissimilar metal bracket or screw. Once it starts, it spreads under the powder coating in a way you can’t see from the outside. By the time it’s visible, the rail is structurally compromised.
  • Gate dragging or catching on the latch side. Hinge sag on an ECO Window Systems gate almost always traces back to the lower hinge bearing. It’s a sacrificial part by design. We replace the bearing and re-square the gate rather than letting the frame wallow out the mounting holes, which is what happens if it’s ignored for a season.
  • Panel rattle you can hear from inside the house. The panel set screws have backed off. It’s a five-minute fix on paper, but if the screws have been loose long enough, the posts have been vibrating in their footings, and the concrete has powdered around the base. Tightening alone won’t hold for long.
  • Brown staining running down from the panel joints. That’s the steel internal clip rusting inside the aluminum extrusion. It’s a common failure on older ECO Window Systems installs from before the company switched to stainless clips. The panel looks fine until the clip lets go altogether, and then the whole section drops.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

So here’s the straight answer on numbers. A typical ECO Window Systems fence installation in Fort Lauderdale runs $3,500 to $9,000 installed. A simple panel swap with matching posts and hardware usually lands at the lower end of that range. A full perimeter with a gate, coastal-series materials, and new footings for every post lands at the top end. What moves the number:

  • Series type: coastal hardware costs more than standard residential, period.
  • Post condition: if the footings are cracked, every affected post needs a new pour.
  • Gate hardware: spring-assisted mechanisms cost more than gravity-close hinges.
  • Access: tight side yards in older Fort Lauderdale neighborhoods make setup slower.

Your written price includes parts, labor, and haul-away. It’s a fixed number, not an estimate that grows on the final bill. Isaac Pruett has been doing this long enough to know where fence projects usually go sideways, and that’s built into the quote before we start, not tacked on after. Our work comes with a 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the installation isn’t right within a year of completion, we make it right at no cost to you.

DIY or Call Us?

You can safely check a few things yourself: walk the fence line and mark posts that are visibly out of plumb, inspect the stamped labels so you know your series, and photograph any corrosion you find. That’s genuinely useful information for us, and it helps us bring the right parts on the first visit. What you shouldn’t do is remove a spring-assisted gate, cut into an aluminum rail, or pour footings without checking where your irrigation lines run. Fort Lauderdale lots are compact, and utilities get buried in creative places. We’ve fixed enough DIY fence work to know the enthusiasm always outruns the planning.

If you’re not sure whether it’s a repair or a replacement, call us at (754) 354-3720. We tell you what we found, what it takes to fix it, and what it will cost, before we touch a thing.
