Caesarstone Home Additions & ADU: The Fort Lauderdale Owner’s Guide
If you’re planning a home addition or ADU in Fort Lauderdale and want Caesarstone surfaces integrated the right way, the installed cost typically lands between $45,000 and $130,000 depending on square footage, plumbing scope, and the Caesarstone profile you choose. We stock and install Caesarstone surfaces as part of full additions and ADU builds, and we’ll match your existing or specified Caesarstone color and finish before the first wall goes up.
Most homeowners come to us after a previous contractor either installed Caesarstone poorly, didn’t account for Florida humidity and slab movement, or quoted the surface without understanding how a Caesarstone island integrates with framing, cabinetry, and plumbing. The seams crack, the overhang sags, or the waterfall edge delaminates from the cabinet below. We see it regularly in Fort Lauderdale neighborhoods like Victoria Park, Rio Vista, and Coral Ridge, where homes built in the 1950s and 60s weren’t framed for the weight of a full Caesarstone island, let alone an entire ADU kitchen.
This page tells you what a Caesarstone home addition or ADU actually costs here, which Caesarstone profiles hold up to South Florida conditions, and what we do differently so you don’t pay twice.
Which Caesarstone Models This Applies To

Caesarstone splits its catalog into three broad lines: the Classic series, the Supernatural series, and the Outdoor series. For ADU and addition work in Fort Lauderdale, the Outdoor series matters more than most people expect. Standard indoor profiles like Frosty Carrina or Empira White were never engineered for UV exposure, and a screened lanai won’t fully stop the color shift that hits light-colored surfaces within two or three Florida summers.
If you’re doing an outdoor kitchen as part of your addition, the Caesarstone Outdoor series (profiles like Clearskies, Midday, or Turbulent Grey) uses UV-stable pigments and a denser resin matrix. The slab itself is the same 20mm or 30mm thickness as indoor stones, but the edge profiles are cut differently to limit chip exposure at corners. We order these with a 30mm profile for unsupported overhangs beyond 12 inches.
One compatibility gotcha: Caesarstone changed its slab sizing in 2021 from 56.5 by 120 inches to 63 by 128 inches on most Supernatural profiles. If your addition is being matched to Caesarstone installed in an existing kitchen before 2021, the new slab won’t match the old one line-for-line on veining patterns. Tell us the year of your existing install before you order, and we’ll pull from the same production run where possible, or adjust the layout so the transition disappears.
OEM Caesarstone is the only product we install for exterior surfaces. Aftermarket quartz with a “Caesarstone-compatible” label is common in South Florida, and we won’t put it in. The resin chemistry isn’t the same, and in Fort Lauderdale’s salt air and humidity, the cheaper binders yellow within 18 months.

Signs Your Caesarstone Home Additions & ADU Is Failing
- Hairline cracks radiating from a sink cutout. This usually means the fabricator cut the inside corners too sharp. Caesarstone requires a minimum 3/8-inch radius on inside corners, and when that’s ignored, the stress concentrates exactly where the crack appears. Fort Lauderdale’s humidity makes the substrate swell, which widens the crack over time.
- Seam separation at the island-to-perimeter transition. In additions built on older slab foundations (common east of US-1), the floor moves more than the countertop. If the seam was filled with standard polyester adhesive instead of a flexible color-matched adhesive, it splits within the first 12 months.
- Chalky, faded patches near windows or glass sliders. UV degradation on indoor profiles. Once the surface dulls, it won’t polish back to factory finish. This is the most common reason Fort Lauderdale owners replace a Caesarstone top in a sunroom addition.
- Water staining around the faucet deck that won’t dry. The stone isn’t absorbing water, the undermount sink seal has failed at the caulk line. In an ADU with a high-arc faucet, splashback pools at the back edge, sits, and eventually works into the seam. Left alone, moisture reaches the cabinet below.
- A waterfall edge that’s pulling away from the cabinet side panel. Caesarstone waterfall panels weigh roughly 18 pounds per square foot. Most frameless cabinets weren’t designed to carry that much vertical weight. The panel sags, the adhesive line shows, and you get a visible quarter-inch gap at the floor.
Replacement Cost & What’s Included

For a home addition or ADU project in Fort Lauderdale with Caesarstone surfaces, plan on $45,000 to $130,000 as an installed range. A garage conversion with a compact kitchen and a single Caesarstone island typically lands at the lower end, around $45,000 to $80,000. A detached ADU with a full kitchen, bathroom, and outdoor Caesarstone cook surface moves toward $90,000 to $130,000.
Here’s the cost breakdown we provide as a written price before any work starts:
- Caesarstone slab and fabrication: $3,500 to $7,500 depending on profile and square footage
- Addition or ADU framing, drywall, electrical, plumbing: $28,000 to $85,000
- Cabinetry built to carry Caesarstone weight: $8,000 to $24,000
- Caesarstone installation with seam and adhesive work: $2,500 to $6,000
- Permits and inspections (we pull them): $2,000 to $7,500
Every quote includes the written price before work begins, the 365-Day Done Right Promise on the full project, and a free return visit if any Caesarstone installation fails within that year. We don’t hand you a verbal number and hope it holds. We tell you what we found, what it takes to fix it, and what it will cost, before we touch a thing.

Caesarstone slabs weigh between 11 and 18 pounds per square foot. A standard ADU island top at 5 feet by 4 feet runs about 300 to 350 pounds. That’s not a two-person weekend job, and a dropped slab doesn’t just crack. It takes out cabinet faces, flooring, and sometimes feet.
What you can safely do: check your existing Caesarstone for the symptoms above, measure your current slab overhangs, and note the profile name from the underside sticker if it’s still there. If the sticker is gone, take a photo in daylight and we can usually identify the color by eye. What you shouldn’t do: try to re-seam a separated joint with epoxy, attempt to polish out UV fading, or reset a sagging waterfall edge. The adhesive systems we use for Caesarstone are specific to the profile and the substrate, and getting the wrong one means the repair fails inside a season.

FAQs

Indoor Caesarstone installed correctly lasts 20 to 30 years in Fort Lauderdale before you’ll see meaningful wear. Outdoor installations on a covered lanai run 10 to 15 years before UV dulling becomes visible. If you’re doing an outdoor kitchen, use the Outdoor series or plan to replace the surface in roughly a decade.
Hairline cracks at sink corners can be filled and color-matched if they haven’t spread, but UV fading can’t be reversed. Once the surface goes chalky from sun exposure, replacement is the only fix. Call (754) 354-3720 and we’ll assess it in person at no charge.
A garage conversion with Caesarstone surfaces takes 6 to 10 weeks. A detached ADU takes 14 to 22 weeks depending on permitting, foundation work, and utility connections in Fort Lauderdale. The written estimate includes a schedule before we start.
We order directly from Caesarstone’s distribution network to your project specs. We don’t warehouse slabs because Caesarstone color lots shift between production runs, and storing a slab in Fort Lauderdale humidity risks warping before install. You approve the exact slab before fabrication.
