Atlas Kitchen Remodeling: The Fort Lauderdale Owner’s Guide
If you have an Atlas kitchen and a cabinet hinge has stripped, a drawer glide snapped, or a door no longer sits square, we stock Atlas-compatible replacement parts and install them for a typical installed cost of $14,000 to $45,000 on a full remodel, with smaller hardware and part replacements priced from $800. Most owners in Fort Lauderdale realize something is wrong when a cabinet door starts sagging, a drawer sticks or rattles, or a countertop seam separates after a few humid summers. You do not need a full gut job for a failed part, and you should not pay for one.
Mason Remodeling Co Fort Lauderdale is an independent remodeling contractor, not affiliated with Atlas. We match Atlas-spec parts from the brands Atlas builds with, and we replace them without overselling you a full kitchen remodel unless the framing or boxes underneath are actually failing.
Which Atlas Models This Applies To

Atlas kitchens are built around modular cabinet boxes that vary in depth, door overlay, and hinge cup size depending on the year and the line. The most common hinge we replace in Fort Lauderdale is a 35mm cup hinge with a half-overlay or full-overlay match, and the most frequent cabinet spec mistake owners make is ordering a half-overlay hinge for a full-overlay door or vice versa. The hinge cup diameter is stamped on the back of your existing hinge, but the overlay is not. You measure the door, not the hinge, to get it right.
For drawer glides, Atlas cabins typically run side-mount ball bearing slides in 18-inch, 21-inch, or 24-inch lengths, and there is no real guesswork involved if you pull the drawer and read the stamp on the side of the slide. The OEM versus aftermarket question comes down to this: for hinges and glides, Blum and Grass aftermarket parts match Atlas specifications exactly and often outlast the original hardware in a Florida salt-air environment. For cabinet skins and doors, you’re better off going OEM matched because the stain and grain batch matters. We stock Blum and Grass on our trucks because that is what actually fixes the problem same day.

Signs Your Atlas Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- Cabinet door droops or will not close. The hinge arm has worn at the pivot or the mounting plate screws have pulled from the box face. Tightening the screw almost never holds because the particleboard behind it has given out.
- Drawer sticks midway or falls off the track. One of the ball bearing cages inside the glide has cracked, or the slide has bent from years of use in Fort Lauderdale’s humidity. Lubricating the rails buys a week at best.
- Countertop seam has opened up or discolored at the joint. Atlas installs quartz and granite the same way most builders do, with epoxy seams, and Florida heat cycling causes epoxy to shrink over time. The seam can be re-bonded, but only if the slabs have not shifted.
- Soft-close mechanism slams or does not catch. The small piston inside the hinge has lost seal. These are not rebuildable. Replacing the hinge is the only actual fix.
- Cabinet box face is peeling or swelling at the bottom corners. This is water intrusion, usually from a dishwasher leak or a sink seal that failed. The part is not the problem; the water was. Fix the leak before you replace the skins or doors.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

In Fort Lauderdale, a full Atlas-compatible kitchen remodel runs $14,000 to $45,000 depending on cabinet count, countertop material, and whether we are doing a straight part-for-part refresh or reconfiguring the layout. If you’re only replacing failed hardware and parts, here is how the pricing actually breaks down:
- Cabinet hinge replacement: $800 to $2,500 installed, depending on how many doors and whether the boxes need reinforcement.
- Drawer glide replacement: $800 to $2,500 installed for a standard set of drawers, including side-mount ball bearing slides.
- Cabinet installation (if boxes are failing): $4,000 to $13,000, including tear-out and haul-away of the old boxes.
- Countertop installation (if seams or slabs have failed beyond repair): $2,000 to $6,500, including templating and seam work.
- Backsplash installation (water damage or cracked tile): $800 to $2,500.
What drives the range is cabinet count, whether the existing boxes are square and reusable, and how much water damage has spread behind what you can see. We give written pricing before any work starts, and every part we install carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if it fails within a year from the completion date, we come back and make it right at no charge to you.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check a few things yourself: pull the drawer and read the stamp on the glide, pop a hinge off the door to check the cup diameter, and look under the sink for signs of water staining. What you should not do is try to re-anchor stripped screws with toothpicks and glue, shim a cabinet box that has swollen unevenly, or attempt a countertop seam repair with a kit from a big box store. The seam kits available in Fort Lauderdale retail stores do not hold up to Florida humidity, and we have fixed enough DIY attempts to say that plainly.
Cabinet hardware itself is not dangerous, but countertop slabs are heavy and awkward, and a dropped slab destroys flooring, cabinets, and sometimes feet. Call (754) 354-3720 and we will send Isaac Pruett out to look at what failed, match the part, and put a written price in your hand the same day.
FAQs

Atlas cabinet boxes themselves can last 20 to 30 years, but hinges and drawer glides in South Florida typically need replacement every 8 to 12 years because the humidity and salt air accelerate wear on the moving metal parts. Doors and drawer fronts fail sooner if there has been water intrusion or if the kitchen is on a slab without proper ventilation.
In almost every case, no. Soft-close pistons cannot be rebuilt once the seal fails, and a hinge whose pivot is worn will never hold the door square again. Replacing the hinge is cheaper than the labor to try to rebuild it, and the replacement feels better than the original.
Most hardware replacement work, like hinges and glides on a standard kitchen, is done in one day. Countertop or cabinet box replacement typically takes 2 to 5 days in Fort Lauderdale, depending on whether custom sizing is needed.
We stock Blum and Grass replacement hardware on our trucks because those are the parts Atlas kitchens are built with. We also regularly install KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone products for full remodels. If the part is uncommon, we order it and typically have it within a few days.
