Caesarstone Kitchen Remodeling: The Fort Lauderdale Owner’s Guide
Caesarstone kitchen remodeling in Fort Lauderdale typically runs $14,000 to $45,000 installed, depending on how much of the kitchen is being reworked around the quartz. Most Caesarstone failures we see are not the slab itself going bad. They are failures at the seams, the edges, or the substrate underneath. The stone cracks, a seam opens up, the overhang starts to flex, or water gets behind the backsplash and swells the drywall. If you are standing in your kitchen looking at a Caesarstone top that has shifted, chipped, or separated from the wall, here is what is actually happening and what it costs to make it right.
Which Caesarstone Models This Applies To
Caesarstone is a quartz manufacturer, not a single product line. The slabs come in multiple series, and each series has its own thickness and edge profile. In Fort Lauderdale kitchens we mostly see 2cm and 3cm slabs, with 3cm being the more common choice for island tops and perimeter counters because it does not require a plywood underlayment. The older 2cm tops almost always have a laminated edge built up to look thicker, and that laminated edge is where water intrusion starts. The glue line fails, the edge lifts, and suddenly the counter looks swollen. If you have a Caesarstone top from roughly 2009 to 2016 in a Fort Lauderdale home, there is a good chance it is 2cm with a built-up edge. Newer 3cm slabs are more forgiving, but the seam joints still need to be cut and epoxied by someone who knows how quartz behaves in Florida humidity. The other compatibility issue is the sink cutout. Undermount sinks on Caesarstone require a specific overhang and a proper epoxy set. When a sink starts to drop or the rim starts to collect black residue, the issue is almost never the stone. It is the install.

Signs Your Caesarstone Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- A seam has visibly separated or darkened. Quartz seams are glued, not fused. In coastal Fort Lauderdale air, any gap in that glue line wicks moisture and turns dark. What you are seeing is not staining inside the stone. It is the seam failing from the bottom up.
- The counter edge has started to chip or delaminate. This is the 2cm laminated edge problem. The top layer starts peeling like a veneer, especially near the dishwasher or the sink where heat and steam hit it every day.
- The island overhang flexes when you lean on it. Caesarstone overhangs beyond 8 to 10 inches need steel brackets or corbels underneath. If someone skipped those brackets on the original install, the stone will eventually crack at the support point. We have pulled more than one island top in Victoria Park that was held up by nothing but hope.
- Water is pooling behind the backsplash or at the back edge of the counter. This means the silicone or the substrate behind the stone has failed. The stone itself is fine, but the wall behind it is not. In Florida humidity, that trapped water becomes mold fast.
- The sink rim is separating from the bottom of the counter. Undermount sinks are held in with mechanical clips and epoxy. When the epoxy gives out, the sink hangs lower, water gets into the gap, and the rim starts corroding. You will see a dark line where stone meets sink, and it will not scrub off.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
A full Caesarstone kitchen remodeling project in Fort Lauderdale falls between $14,000 and $45,000. The spread is wide because the job can mean anything from replacing one failed counter run and matching the existing cabinet boxes to tearing out the entire kitchen down to the studs. Smaller scope work sits lower in that range: a countertop-only replacement with new Caesarstone runs $2,000 to $6,500, and cabinet installation around it adds $4,000 to $13,000. Backsplash installation is $800 to $2,500, and a kitchen island runs $3,000 to $10,000. Every written price includes the stone, fabrication, delivery, tear-out of the old top, installation, sink re-set, and plumbing disconnect and reconnect. You get the price in writing before we touch a thing, and the finished work carries a 365-day guarantee from the completion date. If something is not right within a year, we fix it at no cost. No change orders, no surprise invoices, no verbal number that quietly grows.
DIY or Call Us?
Caesarstone is heavy. A 3cm slab can weigh over 20 pounds per square foot, and an island top can exceed 400 pounds. Cutting, shimming, and setting quartz is not a homeowner job, and the risks are not just cosmetic. A dropping sink or a cracking overhang can injure someone. What you can safely do before calling is check for movement: press on the overhang, run your finger along the seams, and look under the sink for standing water. What you should not do is attempt to re-glue a seam, re-set a sink, or remove any portion of the stone yourself. Quartz that is under stress will crack without warning, and the edges are sharp. If any of the symptoms above match what you are seeing, call (754) 354-3720 and we will come look at it. We tell you what we found, what it takes to fix it, and what it will cost – before we touch a thing.
FAQs

A properly installed Caesarstone countertop should last 20-plus years in a Fort Lauderdale kitchen, and the quartz itself rarely fails. What fails is the installation: seams, sink mounts, edge lamination, and the substrate underneath. If those were done right, the top is the last thing you replace.
Small chips and hairline cracks can sometimes be filled with a color-matched epoxy, but the repair is cosmetic, not structural. A crack that runs through the slab near a sink or an overhang will eventually spread. For a real quote on repair versus replacement, call (754) 354-3720. We will tell you which one makes sense for your kitchen, not which one makes us more money.
Most Caesarstone kitchen remodels in Fort Lauderdale run 2 to 6 weeks depending on scope. Counter-only replacement is usually 1 to 2 weeks from templating to install. A full kitchen gut with cabinets, counters, and backsplash is closer to 4 to 6 weeks when you factor in fabrication time for the quartz.
We work directly with Caesarstone-compatible fabricators and stock the common install parts on the truck: seam epoxy, sink clips, silicone, and edge materials. We also stock parts for KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone surfaces. For the slab itself, we order to match your existing color through our fabrication partners, and we verify the match before anything gets cut.
